2 day Hedge Laying for women and non binary people 25th and 26th November.

£60.00

This 2 day hedgelaying course for women, non-binary and trans people, 25th and 26th November. Course will provide a safe and supportive environment to become familiar with the traditional craft of hedgelaying. It will include a brief introduction of the importance of hedgerows in our landscape, practice time using the tools of the trade (billhooks, axes and pruning saws), and of course hedge laying!

Our instructor, Sasha Georgiades of Hedge Ways is a founding member of ‘Women and Diverse Genders in Forestry’, a member led group of the Landworkers’ Alliance and is passionate about creating opportunities for marginalised people to enter traditional rural spaces.

Places are limited. Sorry no children or dogs on this occasion because of the sharp tools. If you can pay more this will allow us to offer the course for less for those who are really strapped. If you cannot afford this course but have a plan to become a hedge or woods person please make contact. The site is wheelchair accessible with access to an all terrain wheelchair.
