Foraged Plant Dyes

  • Common Flora Diptford Cross Totnes, United Kingdom (map)

Please book here

We will be working in different ways with natural dyes and plant dyes in and from the landscape. We will use foraged and organic cultivated plants to create beautiful natural colours on fabric. Within the session you will create your own artwork ‘map’ of your own design.

This is a great workshop for anyone who is interested in Art, Textiles, Sustainability, Landscape or Horticulture. It’s perfect for someone who has done textiles dying or artwork before or for someone who is completely new to dyes and textiles.

All materials are provided, but you may want to bring along a map or drawing of your favourite place to inspire your design.

The session will run from 10.30 to 2pm with half hour lunch. Tea, Coffee and Biscuits provided, but please bring a packed lunch. This workshop is for adults (18+).

Our barn and toilets are ramped. Please make contact with us prior to booking to discuss access if necessary. We will do what we can to make this event accessible for all.

Any questions please do get in contact via email: samaspdendesigns@hotmail.com

‘I want to share the techniques of colour extraction with a community in their landscape. I’m delighted to be running these events. I helped build the straw bale barn and had a fantastic time. I feel very invested in this land and looking forward to meeting others who feel the same’
